Origin

Siegendorf / Burgenland

To the south of the 47th parallel and to the east of the 16th meridian, situated at 176 metres above sea level in the wine-growing area of Leithaberg, Siegendorf has proven to be an excellent location for the production of powerful red wines.

The warm Pannonian climate that prevails here due to the proximity of Lake Neusiedl, located just four kilometres away, allows the grapes to continue ripening slowly until well into autumn. This factor combines with sandy soils rich in humus to provide the ideal conditions for wine-growing.

Winery
Klosterkeller Siegendorf
The market town of Siegendorf, located 60 kilometres to the south of Vienna in the wine-growing area of Leithaberg, was first mentioned in written records as early as 1254. The Lenz Moser winery has been cultivating 24 ha of vineyards here since 1988.
