Origin

Lower Austria, Kremstal, Rohrendorf
The wine-growing village of Rohrendorf near Krems is not only known for the pioneering work of the legendary Prof. Dr. Lenz Moser III (Lenz Moser Hochkultur). The gigantic loess terraces that tower over the northern part of Rohrendorf are characteristic of this wine-growing village in the eastern Kremstal valley. The soils are mostly conglomerates with varying thicknesses of loess deposits. The climate is influenced by the nearby Danube and Pannonian influences from the east.
Lenz Moser DAC
The Lenz Moser DAC "Districtus Austriae Controllatus" wines represent a particularly regional characteristic.
Lenz Moser DAC

By May 2019, 13 regions had decided to use the name of the region only for one or a few wines that are particularly typical of the region. Following the example of the world’s famous wines of origin (e.g. Barolo in Italy or Rioja in Spain), the typical wines of origin from these regions are now called the same as the region itself and bear the suffix DAC after the region name (e.g. Kremstal DAC or Weinviertel DAC).
