Origin

Siegendorf / Burgenland
Located south of the 47th parallel and east of the 16th longitude, at 176 meters above sea level in the Leithaberg wine-growing region, Siegendorf is an excellent location for the production of powerful red wines. The warm Pannonian climate, which prevails here due to the proximity of Lake Neusiedl, only four kilometers away, allows the grapes to ripen slowly well into autumn. Together with the sandy, humus-rich soils, this creates ideal conditions for viticulture.

The market town of Siegendorf, located 60 kilometers south of Vienna in the Leithaberg wine-growing region, was first mentioned in documents in 1254. The Lenz Moser winery has been cultivating the 24 hectares of vineyards since 1988.

For decades, the vineyards in Siegendorf have been cultivated according to the principles of environmentally conscious grape production: quality before quantity, organic fertilization, living soil. The proximity of Lake Neusiedl, the south-western orientation of the vineyard and the Pannonian climate favor viticulture. The warm, sandy, humus-rich soils are ideal for growing fine vines.
